It's week seven of the color season and all color phases are in play, with a noticeable shift in color region-wide as color expands.

At this point in the season you'll find hillsides of vibrant color, coupled with ridgelines at past-peak, while mid elevations lag behind.
This delay in the mid elevations is due to colder temps settling along the highest ridgelines and/or valley floor, skipping the mid elevations all together.
With colder weather arriving this weekend and cooler temps sticking around for most of next week, we expect the mid elevations to come online, just as hardwoods begin to turn over the season.
