Mid Elevations
high color is reaching the mid elevations
It's week eight of the color season and the mid elevations are rapidly turning color. Over the next three weeks we'll enjoy region wide high - peak color, with the color season expected to extend into mid - late November.
Mid Elevations = 3000 - 5000'
Hardwoods continue to turnover and have peaked in a few sections and soon (early - mid November), we'll be enjoying Second Peak.
Second Peak: when the majority of hardwoods peak, providing a second round of color after maples, sourwoods, etc. have dropped their leaves

As Evan Fisher (Explore Fall owner/operator) put it recently, this current stretch of dry weather with warm afternoons and cold nights will kick our color season into high gear.
